A Plus Market is a drop off point for Bras to be donated to the UPLIFT PROJECTuplift_logo_120

One of our followers has requested us to share this - if you feel you wanna have your day follow the link (also in comments). The campaign leader has this to say “I've been working on a campaign for a little bit now around access and equal treatment for 'plus-sized' people in the healthcare system. I've been pretty outraged by some discussion over treatment of plus-sized persons in the healthcare system (including my own treatment). I've put together a survey with the intent of sending a report to the Federal and State Ministers for Health, the Australian Medical Association and the Healthcare Complaints Commission about the biases experienced by plus-sized people in the Australian healthcare system and their respective concerns. I think this is a really important issue and one that is often swept under the carpet.” The link to the google survey is: https://forms.gle/Tx7xCux8i2wCRKDo8
Simply so much amazing ness in this post #Repost @laceyjadechristie with @get_repost ・・・ Do you notice your body and how it fits in a room? Last night I had the pleasure of attending @mygotogal event at @luckypennychapel and I was interested to note that I was the biggest person there. This isnt uncommon and I take up a lot of space with my height, width and personality. I did note that I wasn’t uncomfortable in my body or the amount of space I took up... Just aware of it. I also loved getting to push my comfort levels in this dress because it hugs every inch of my which was a little off putting at the beginning and now I love it! Thanks @prettylittlething and @aplusmarket for helping me be extra! My point is that it doesn’t matter where you are or who you’re surrounded by, I know it’s hard sometimes, but let’s embrace our body for everything that it is and everything that it has done for us rather than making ourselves smaller because we feel like that’s what society wants us to do. I had the best time last night and met some amazing women and we talked all things bopo and you know what? They all had their issues, they were all insecure. You don’t know what other people are going through and nobody was judging me on the size of my body, they were jealous that I had all this jelly in that dress though! So take a second to be thankful to your body. What are you thankful for? I’m thankful that although I have a spinal defect that I can still walk and I am still living my best life. Also thank you @alyssaho_xx for creating such an amazing space for women to come and connect. And to my new IG to IRL friends @jessiabass, @lovehally and @thegirlcode_byshani #mygotogal #melbourne #plussizefashion #curvyfashion #girlpower #womenstartups #womensuportingwomen #businesschicks #glitter
