First, we are introducing one of the fashion forward ladies who will be offering up pieces selected for you from her own wardrobe.
Julie is a self-confessed crazy cat lady who loves to read trashy novels has a nostalgic weakness for 80’s music and absolutely loves shopping, can’t resist a sale and of course LOVE’s FASHION!
Sounds just like me and you, right?
I can’t wait to shop her wardrobe.
For some fun, Julie has agreed to share some of her interests and style tips with us.
Describe your fashion style?
Girly, I live in dresses and skirts – it is a rare event that sees me wearing trousers. For years my wardrobe was mostly black, but I am trying to incorporate more colour these days. Nothing better than a pretty floral frock on a sunny spring day.
What do you love about fashion?
I love that beautiful clothes make me feel confident and gorgeous. I love how 20 women can wear exactly the same dress and yet each can put their own spin on it and it can create a completely different look. I love being able to create a look to suit an occasion or mood – all this with just pieces of fabric. Amazing!
What is you more favourite fashion era?
I love the 1950’s and 1960’s – classic style!
Describe your go to outfit?
A cute dress, leggings and a cardigan with a sweet brooch. This is my everyday uniform – workdays, weekends, nights out etc – all just variations on the same theme.
Describe your fantasy best outfit ever.
The one that you haven’t found yet but wish it existed? Being a classic apple shape – I would love a dress which gives me the perfect hourglass shape with a defined waist, which isn’t too tight and is super comfortable to sit down in (preferably with sleeves).
Why are you having a stall at A Plus Market?
I have a bursting wardrobe and I don’t have the time or energy to sell online (taking photos, creating listings, packing and going to the post office – it’s all too hard). I need to clear out the things that don’t work for me, but will work for someone else – recycling at its best.
What are you selling?
I have quite a few items which are either brand new, or worn once or twice. I have some lovely long dresses for more formal occasions, some casual dresses, skirts and tops – mostly in sizes 20 – 24. I also have a couple of pairs of brand new shoes and some costume jewellery. Hopefully something for everyone.
Come along to A Plus Market Wantirna,
meet Julie I person and free her of bursting wardrobe.
A Plus Market isn’t just about awesome plus size fashion, there is also many other beautiful things ALL and ANY woman would love to have in her life.
Jewellery and accessories are high up that list, right?

How would you describe your fashion style?
Lots of colours and chunky jewellery
What’s your favourite piece of clothing and why?
I love my long length cardigans,
they are versatile and cover all the right areas
Do you love to accessorise or prefer to keep your look simple?
Definitely accessorise, especially with earrings. I cannot walk out of the house without earrings. I feel naked without them
If you had to choose, would you pick a handbag or shoes?
I totally agree with this quote from Sarah Jessica Parker as Carrie Bradshaw (“Sex And The City”)
“I’m thinking balls are to men, what purses are to women. It’s just a little bag but we’d feel naked in public without it.”
What is your favourite fashion ‘rule’ to break?
Rule # Don’t mix Gold and Silver….
Mix it up!!!!! I love mixing rose gold and silver necklaces.
Aisha’s A Plus Market stall will feature brands such as ASOS, Myer, City Chic and some from overseas amongst others.
Come and relieve her of these gorgeous clothes and help her continue her online clothes shopping sprees.
Not only do we have fabulous new and vintage plus size fashion available at A Plus Market, we have women just like you offering up their fantastic pre-loved pieces.
I thought it would be nice to shine some light on one of our pre-loved purveyors.
I’d like to introduce you to the lovely, Amara.
A 29 year old full time working mother to a 2 year old, Amara is a self professed shop-a-holic and loves to blog about her fashion finds.
I asked Amara to let us in on some of her fashion tips and give us a hint of what she will be bringing along to the August A Plus Market. Here’s what she said:
How would you define your fashion style in a few words?
Where’s your favourite place to shop?
ASOS Curve it is affordable fashion for plus size women and bang on trend.
What’s your favourite piece of clothing (or accessory)?
Anything Peplum! It really works for my body shape.
I also love earrings, I can’t leave the house without them, I feel naked.
What’s your best fashion tip?
Own some basics in your wardrobe, a white and black t-shirt, a pair of jeans and a good jacket. You are guaranteed to always find something that goes with any of them if your having a “I don’t have anything to wear” day.
What’s your pet peeve about the plus size fashion industry in Australia?
It is hard to find trendy plus size fashion, although this is starting to change. It is also really hard to find plus size fashion stores especially in the country.
Why are you having a stall at A Plus Market?
I am literally a shop-a-holic, cannot go one week without purchasing something so maybe if I sell a few things, I might get my dream Mulberry handbag!
Amara will be selling brand new clothing with tags from some UK brands including Marks & Spencer and Dorothy Perkins. As well as a heap of pre-loved goodies from ASOS Curve, New Look, Sussan, Next plus shoes and accessories.
